Job Description:

Manage the product development process from concept through scale-up of the finished products. Develop new products using internal and external resources to deliver products within time, taste, functionality, cost and regulatory expectations. Plan and document plant trials for the successful commercialization of new products. Manage the development process to ensure complete transparency and trace ability of work. Develop test formulas, recommended packaging configurations and formula costing. Prepare plant formulations and procedures. Must be able to lead in a team environment. Communicate with current and potential food service, industrial customers and retail customers.



Requirements:

* BS Food Science, Food Engineering, Food Microbiology or related science – may consider an accredited certified chef.
* Minimum 5 years in an R&D Management/Supervisory role.
* Minimum 5 years of experience working cross functionally within R&D, QA, Marketing, Culinary and Production – with strong knowledge of ingredient functionality. Bakery experience is a plus!.
* Strong knowledge/understanding in USDA, HACCP & Serve Safe certification. Ability to stay current with nutritional FDA regulations, food legislation and changing processes to comply with new regulations.
* Must have excellent project management, communications and presentation skills.
