Reports to President

Manages all aspects of Human Resources practices and processes. Support business needs and ensure the proper implementation of company strategy and objectives.


  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
  • Serve as Strategic HR Business Partner to the… Leadership Team
  • Leads the recruiting and orientation process
    • Manages recruitment and interview process including
      • Internal and external job postings
      • Submits the online investigation requests and runs new employee background checks.
      • Coordinates all new hire screenings (physical, drug screen, background check) and employee paperwork
      • Coordinates candidate interviews with hiring managers
      • Administers pre-employment tests as required in absence of HR Assistant
      • Maintains employment applications/resumes filing system
    • Identifies and manages the approved temporary employee agency.
    • Ensures that all employee files are current
    • Conducts new employee orientations
  • Manages organizational training and development efforts.
    • Develops annual training plan to meet leadership and regulatory requirements
    • Keeps managers updated on employee training needed for SQF certification
    • Schedules trainings ensuring that participants are notified on a timely basis; tracks attendance and schedules make-up sessions
  • Assists in the planning, design and implementation of Health, Wellness and Safety programs
    • Participates in benefits administration to include claims resolution and change reporting.
    • Conducts benefits enrollment for new employees
    • Attends Safety Committee meetings as scheduled
    • Helps facilitate workers comp issues and injuries including documentation & investigations
    • Maintains all Safety training and inspection documentation
    • Report food safety issues to supervision with the authority to initiate action
    • Manages and maintains all benefits related sites and programs including:
      • Medical, Dental, Vision
      • COBRA
      • LTD and Life
      • 401 K
    • Leads and oversees the administration of the time and attendance and payroll system
      • Manages all aspects of temporary employees
      • Keep an active list of current temporary employees by shift and position
      • Maintain history of temporary employees used by company and status upon leaving
      • Tracks and audits time and attendance for hourly employees
      • Keeps employee records accurate and up to date
    • Assists in developing and maintaining company communications
      • Provides articles for company newsletter
      • Provides information for monitors
      • Posts companywide announcements
    • Employee Relations
      • With Leadership Team develops an annual plan to retain and engage employees
      • Deal with employee issues and concerns
      • Measure engagement and develop plans to address results.
      • Shares concerns around employee morale with General Manager
      • Identifies potential threats to the union free status and shares with General Manager
    • Provides administrative support to General Manager and others as assigned
      • Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database as needed.
      • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
      • Assists General Manager with various research projects and/or special projects.
      • Assists or prepares correspondence.
      • Helps to maintain organization charts and employee directory
      • Performs other related duties as required and assigned
    • Assumes responsibility for own personal development and continuous learning.
    • Keeps abreast on new technology, methods and regulations related to responsibilities
    • Practices customer intimacy with internal and external customers in day to day responsibilities



Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource or related field preferred

Certifications/Licenses: none required, Strategic HR Business Partner, SHRM or HRCI certification preferred

Experience: 3-5 years working in Human Resource capacity preferred
